On Monday, November 2, 2026, the Urban League will host its 7th annual INTERRUPT RACISM™ Summit: We the People. 

This year’s Summit is more than a gathering; it is a call to renewed resolve. In many traditions, the number seven represents completion and reflection, a time to take stock of what has been accomplished, what has been learned, and what must come next. This year invites us to honor our past work while recommitting to the work still ahead. It is also a moment to reflect on how far we have come as a community and what is required to continue advancing equity, belonging, and fairness. We the People carry the responsibility to choose courage over comfort, engagement over indifference, and responsibility over retreat. 

Over the past few years, we have seen cultural norms tested, values strained, and public trust eroded. Yet, Rochester has an opportunity to demonstrate that progress is not accidental. It is sustained by communities that choose to lead with dignity, humanity, and a commitment to the common good.
